If you're looking for a small, sociable a capella chamber choir with high standards and an ambitious repertoire, then Thames Chamber Choir may be just right for you.
We rehearse at St Dunstan and All Saints Church in Stepney on Sunday afternoons (and occasional Friday evenings) on a project basis, with 6 to 8 weeks’ rehearsal for each concert. We perform 3 or 4 concerts a year, but there are often additional singing opportunities throughout the year, such as singing liturgically, or taking part in collaborations and projects.
We usually have at least one ‘away’ concert per year and have recently performed in St. Leonards, Ramsgate, and Harlech. The choir also occasionally travels abroad and in 2017 performed in the medieval German spa town of Bad Wimpfen as part of the town’s Reichsstadtfest celebrations.
As a smaller group our per singer costs are higher than for larger groups which is reflected in our membership subscription of £120 each year. A reduced rate is available for students.
All our members are confident singers who are able to hold a line on their own, have reasonable sight-reading skills and a vocal quality that blends with the rest of the group. Applicants will be asked to demonstrate these qualities at an informal audition with a prepared piece and a short sight-reading test.

We are always interested in hearing from people of all voice parts, even if we don’t have any current vacancies.
If you would like further information about joining the choir or to enquire about arranging an audition for one of our current vacancies, please fill in the form below and we will get back to you as soon as possible.
